Revise a whole chapter in 20 minutes before an exam
Hear only the bones of a chapter at high speed, then test yourself on what you marked.

- You need
- A book you have already listened to once, with a few highlights
- Set-up
- 1 minute
- Features combined
- Skim · Smart speed · Study · Quiz me
- Phone cost
- None beyond normal listening
- Open the chapter and go to its first page.
- Hear only the key lines. Tap the speed button, open What to read and turn on Skim.
- Speed up without losing words. In the same sheet, raise the speed to 2× or more. Smart speed shortens silences and long sounds but keeps consonants, so fast speech stays clear. Above 3× it is always on.
- Slow down for the hard part. When you reach a definition you need word for word, turn Skim off, open Study in the same sheet and set Read each sentence to 2× with Gap to repeat. You hear each sentence twice, with a silence to say it back.
- Finish with questions. In the Library, tap ⋮ and then Quiz me. Questions you miss come back sooner.
Why it works
Skim gives you the structure of the chapter, Smart speed keeps it fast without turning it into noise, and Study mode slows down only where memorising matters. Quiz me spaces your questions out the way flashcard apps do.
If it goes wrong
If Skim skips too much in a chapter with few headings, turn it off for that chapter and use speed alone. If Quiz me says there is nothing to ask, highlight a few passages first: each highlight becomes one question.
